Matthew Lalin, Founder
Matthew is the founder of starpower, which he launched from the ground up with his longtime colleague and friend Jared Weiss. By leveraging his extensive network of relationships, Matthew created a trustworthy, dynamic, and unique Influencer & Culture Marketing agency that “flipped” the model on its head. After graduating from the University of Albany’s business school in 1998, Matthew began his marketing career at Omnicom Group’s Steiner Sports, where he rose to Executive Vice President before leaving in 2007 to launch starpower. With offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, starpower is a trusted advisor to best-in-class brands and their partners in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Matthew has conceived, negotiated, and executed marketing campaigns for a world-class roster of brands which include Novo Nordisk, The Estee Lauder Companies, Pfizer, Colgate-Palmolive, Diageo, Nestle Waters, and Bayer. His 25+ years of experience, unwavering loyalty to his clients and his intuitive negotiation abilities have resulted in over $1B worth of entertainment, music, and sport partnerships. starpower is built on Matthew’s passion for creating an innovative and fun agency culture which is based on loyalty, trust, and a strong work ethic. Matthew’s work hard, play hard philosophy drives starpower in both the boardroom and behind the scenes. This is evident by Matthew’s far-reaching network which he views as friends and family at the top level of business, entertainment, music, and sport. Matthew was a keynote speaker at the WTA Tour Conference where he discussed “monetizing your personal brand” and has also counseled Hunter College students on entertainment marketing. He is highly respected in the industry and has been widely quoted and referenced in the Wall Street Journal, Brandweek, PR Week, Sports Illustrated, Sports Business Journal, Medical Marketing & Media, as well as on CNBC, CNN, and ESPN. Matthew is equally passionate about life outside of work. Whether he is coaching his children Scarlett and Mason in basketball, tennis, and flag football or engaging in entrepreneurial discussions with his wife Stephanie, who is an accomplished jewelry designer and founder of Jemma Wynne, Matthew is a devoted family man. He has served as a board member of the JLS Foundation, supports Blythedale Children’s Hospital and has a personal affiliation with breast cancer organizations.

Jared Weiss, Founder
Jared is the founder of starpower, a trusted Influencer & Culture Marketing agency that he launched alongside his long-time friend and colleague, Matthew Lalin. Built on a foundation of integrity, dedication to clients, and transparency, starpower is now a global leader in helping brands connect authentically with audiences through strategic partnerships and creative storytelling. After graduating from the University of Hartford in 1992 with a degree in Advertising and Communications, Jared began his career at Omnicom Group's Steiner Sports. There, he rose to become President, learning firsthand the value of true relationships, and delivering results that put client success first. After 15 years, Jared’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to create starpower — an agency where collaboration, trust, and service are core to every client partnership. Under Jared's leadership, starpower has earned the trust of world-renowned brands like American Express, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Mars Chocolate, and Neiman Marcus, driving over $1B in talent and content partnerships. With offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, starpower is known for crafting partnerships that not only drive business goals but build meaningful, lasting connections with consumers. Jared's expertise and approachable leadership style have made him a sought-after speaker at several universities, where he shares valuable insights on careers in entertainment and sports. His voice has also been featured in media outlets like The New York Times, USA Today, and The Sports Business Journal. At home in Westchester, New York, Jared treasures time with his wife and two sons. Whether mentoring future industry leaders, going to see Metallica live, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, or heading to the ice rink for his favorite sport, hockey, Jared embodies a passion for life guided by integrity and authenticity.
